2752. Joseph Meader, Jr. (c.1690 – c.1728)

Joseph Meader, Jr., son of Joseph Meader (1664-1739) [1198] and his wife Elizabeth (  –  ), was born about 1690 and died before 1728. May 17, 1714 he bought land of James Burnham on the south side of Oyster River, part of 200 acres originally granted to Ambrose Gibbons* in 1654, sold to his son-in-law Henry Sherburne** and November 9, 1661 conveyed to Robert Burnham, grandfather of James. Serj. Joseph Meder, jur. was member of a church committee from Durham Point in 1716, and he signed an accompanying petition as Joseph Meder Jn. No record of wife or children has been found.

*Came in 1630; Assistant to Governor Bellingham.
